The 81st in the world Universities at SDG2 (Zero Hunger) category of THE Impact Ranking 2022!

SDGsicon2_enOn April 28, 2022, Osaka Prefecture University was ranked 81st in the world in the “SDG2 (Zero Hunger)” (Keyword) category of the “THE Impact Ranking 2022” by the British higher education magazine “Times Higher Education (THE)”. THE Impact Ranking 2022 visualizes the contribution of universities through the framework of the SDGs (Sustainable Development Goals).

Our longstanding activities, including research and education initiatives at the Plant Factory Research Center and the operation of on-campus vehicles powered by biogas from leftover food from the cafeteria, were highly evaluated.

The University also gained good scores in four of the 17 goals: SDG 6 (Clean water and sanitization), SDG 9 (Industrial, innovation and infrastructure), SDG 13 (Climate action), and SDG 14 (Life below water) (Keyword) and reached 301-400th position among 1,524 universities from 110 nations and regions, including 84 Japanese universities in the overall. These activities will be carried on at Osaka Metropolitan University, which established in April 2022, to further develop and contribute to the realization of a sustainable society.
