The 28th OPU Japanese Speech Contest for International Students 2021 Was Held Online

On November 3, 2021, the 28th OPU Japanese Speech Contest for International Students was held online. The event was organized by Osaka Prefecture University and OPU International Student Supporters’ Association.
10 international students gave speeches on the theme of “Cross-cultural exchange”.
The gold prize was awarded to Mr. DENG Haoyu (China, College of Engineering) for his speech titled “Reasons why I love Japan” in which he talked through his experience. The silver prize was awarded to Mr. HU Yuteng (China, Graduate School of Engineering) for his speech titled “The World I’ve Seen” in which he expressed what brought him to Japan, and the bronze prize was awarded to Mr. PARK Sungjun (Korea, College of Engineering) for his speech titled “My girl friend” in which he talked about the relationship with people from different cultures. Ms. YANG Tianwu (China, College of Sustainable System Sciences) won the Audience Award.
The top two students participated in the 5th OPU-OCU-KU inter-university Japanese Speech Contest for International Students (by Osaka Prefecture University, Osaka City University and Kansai University) on November 21, 2021 as representatives from OPU.
We hope that this event will encourage OPU international students to learn Japanese language and culture, and have various cultural experiences during their stay in Japan.
