The 27th OPU Japanese Speech Contest for International Students 2020 Was Held Online

On November 1, 2020, the 27th OPU Japanese Speech Contest for International Students was held online. The event was organized by Osaka Prefecture University and OPU International Student Supporters’ Association.
Nine international students gave speeches on the theme of “Cross-cultural exchange “.
The gold prize was awarded to Mr. Ling WENBIAO (China, College of Engineering) for his speech titled “Threads” in which he talked about the importance of the relationship between people. The silver prize was awarded to Mr. Deng HAOYU (China, College of Engineering) for his speech titled “Why I don’t put a label on people” in which he expressed his views on labeling people, and the bronze prize was awarded to Ms. Xu YUE (China, Graduate School of Economics) for her speech titled “Who would you like to share your inspiration with?” in which she talked about the beauty of Japan’s four seasons. Mr. Han DONGYUN (Korea, College of Engineering) won the Audience Award.
The top two students participated in the 4th OPU-OCU-KU inter-university Japanese Speech Contest for International Students (by Osaka Prefecture University, Osaka City University and Kansai University) on November 29, 2020 as representatives from OPU.
We hope that this event will encourage OPU international students to learn Japanese language and culture, and have various cultural experiences during their stay in Japan.
