Professor Akita and Special Associate Professor Togawa received the Commendation for Science and Technology by MEXT

The Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology(MEXT), Japan annually commends the citizens or groups for their outstanding achievements in education, research, or their related matters.
The Commendation for Science and Technology consists of four prizes including Science and Technology Prize, Young Scientist Prize, Prize for Creativity, and Prize to School for Nurturing Creativity.

Two OPU faculty members have been awarded the 2012 commendations. The recipients are as follows:

  1. Prize for Science and Technology (Development Category)

    Professor Seiji Akita
    (Department of Physics and Electronics, Graduate School of Engineering)
    Awarded Research: “Development of Carbon-nanotube Tips for Scanning Probe Microscopy” by Professor Akita and two other members.
