Organization for Industry, University and Government Cooperation
The Organization for Industry, University and Government Cooperation was established in April 2005 as part of Osaka Prefecture University so as to enable the university to give the knowledge and technology accumulated over the years back to society. This is done by providing industry with high level technology, through the creation of new industries, contribution to regional development and revitalization of education and research.
The organization promotes interdisciplinary research projects with leading researchers from Japan and around the world, carries out cutting-edge research in areas such as radiation, the environment, biotechnology and semi-conductors etc. In addition, the organization handles research and support for public-tender projects and manages large-scale education and research facilities such as affiliated radiation units and semi-conductor clean rooms. Furthermore, in addition to coordination of joint research, funded research, donations to promote education and research and other administrative activities which are essential to the running of the fund, the organization provides all the necessary services related to government-university-industry collaboration such as liaison between government-university-industry coordinators, and the protection, management and utilization of intellectual property.
To help provide these services, the organization houses the following facilities: General Strategy Coordination Division, Frontier Science Innovation Center, Liaison Office and Intellection Property Management Office.
Library and Science Information Center

The Library and Science Information Center, as a source of academic information, has three major functions. It plays the role of a library to provide information on books, periodicals and other publications, the role of an information processing and communication center, providing support information education and practical training, and the role of a lecture hall with as many as 1,200 seats. The Center is not only a university -wide socility but is also available for external use and is open to the public. It evolves from day to day as the "intelligent space" for the support of educational research and meets a wide variety of needs in society including continuing education. The Center efficiently serves our students, faculty members, and the residents in the prefecture.
Library at Nakamozu Campus

The Library at Osaka Prefecture University is located in the Library and Science Information Center building. In its abundant space, which includes two above-ground floors and two under-ground floors, contains a large collection of documents including Japanese and non-Japanese books, past issues of academic journals, and others, mainly for educational and research purposes. It is also furnished with audio-visual rooms, booths and shared computer terminals. These facilitiesare primarily for our students and faculty members but can be used by Osaka Prefecture residents and those who commute to the prefecture to work or study.
U Hall Shirasagi

With a capacity of 1,200 people, this hall not only serves as a forum for educational and research activities but also fulfils the life-long educational and cultural needs of residents of the prefecture through university extension programs.
Conference Hall

A conference facility for up to 300 participants. The availability of a special conference room with simultaneous interpreting equipment for up to 3 languages means that we are able to accommodate both domestic and international conferences.
Habikino Health Sciences Library

With 120,000 books on nursing, health-care, rehabilitation and other related topics, this is one of the most important specialized libraries in Japan. Additional information is obtained through our extensive network with other libraries both in Japan and around the world. Our aims are to support undergraduate and graduate students, and to supply our region’s health-care professionals with all the information they need as part of our policy of nurturing highly specialized personnel able to meet the ever changing needs of the healthcare sector.
Lecture Hall (Habikino)

This 911-seat hall, equipped with state-of-the-art lighting and sound systems, can be used for exchange activities through education/research, public lectures, lifelong learning for local residents (such as public lectures etc), as well as various other community and cultural events.
