Agricultural Science is reborn as Life and Environmental Studies This new department has been launched to pursue research and education in the wide-ranging field of life and environmental sciences – a field which builds on and exceeds the traditional concepts of agricultural science. Great importance is attached to cutting-edge bioscience, and related fields are incorporated for a wider perspective. The aim of the course is to elucidate a diverse range of life phenomena to enable their multifaceted functional utilization. To this end, basic education is given in the fields of bioscience, biotechnology, and the creation and protection of the earth’s environment which is essential to all life. We strive to nurture human resources able to contribute to industry, academia and government in all these fields.
