LastUpDate: June 26, 2020

With the union of Osaka Prefecture University and Osaka City University scheduled for the 4th year of Reiwa (FY2022), we announce the name our new university to be the University of Osaka*.

With a total of 16,000 students, spread across a wide range of academic fields including 12 undergraduate and 15 graduate schools, the University of Osaka* will be one of the largest comprehensive universities in Japan.

The fusion of both universities will bring forth new education and research that utilizes Osaka’s strength as a big city, taking us beyond the conventional concept of a university.
