Application for Tuition Exemption for First Semester of Academic Year 2018-2019

OPU will be accepting applications for tuition exemption for the First Semester of Academic Year 2018-2019 as follows. Students seeking tuition exemption are required to submit an application by the appointed time.
Privately-financed international students who are diligently pursuing their studies within the standard course term and to whom any of the following conditions apply may be eligible for exemption of tuition fees.
(1) Students who are in financial difficulty to a degree equivalent to those receiving public assistance under the Public Assistance Act; or
(2) Students who find it difficult to pay tuition fees due to long-term sickness, slumping business, unemployment, or other economic reason;
In principle, international students who have remained in the same grade for more than one year are not eligible for tuition exemption. In addition, research students cannot apply for tuition exemption.

Screening results will be informed in late July. Applicants for tuition exemption are granted a grace period for their tuition fee payment until they receive the result of their applications.
Applications for tuition exemption need to be made for each semester. If you are a Japanese Government Scholarship student or an exchange student accepted under an academic exchange agreement between OPU and your home university, you are exempt from the tuition.
