Special Guest Professor Program 2015: Prof. Keiko Hattori (University of Ottawa)

LastUpDate: January 22, 2016

Osaka Prefecture University invites many leading researchers and educators as Guest Professors throughout the year. Each invited professor spends approximately one month at OPU to conduct special lectures, seminars, and individual discussions with faculty and students. The Guest Professor Program aims to stimulate students’ intellectual growth, to provide firsthand access to the finest world-class research, and to build tighter relations between OPU and leading universities around the world.

Our ninth guest in 2015 is Prof. Keiko Hattori from Department of Erath Science, University of Ottawa, Canada. Prof. Hattori is one of the most eminent researchers who specialize in the transfer of chalcophile and platinum group elements from slabs to arc magmas via mantle wedges and from arc magmas to mineral deposits. She also studies exploration geochemistry.

During her stay from December 7 to December 28, she gave lectures and seminars for the students of the Graduate School of Science, as well as for the undergraduate students, together with many opportunities of discussion with them. Also she attended Role-Model Cafe organized by Center for Women in Research of OPU as a guest speaker.
