Special Guest Professor Program 2015: Prof. Francesco Toppan (Brazilian Center for Physics Reseach, Brazil)

Osaka Prefecture University invites many leading researchers and educators as Guest Professors throughout the year. Each invited professor spends approximately one month at OPU to conduct special lectures, seminars, and individual discussions with faculty and students. The Guest Professor Program aims to stimulate students’ intellectual growth, to provide firsthand access to the finest world-class research, and to build tighter relations between OPU and leading universities around the world.

Our fist guest in 2015 is Prof. Francesco Toppan from Brazilian Center for Physics Research (Centro Brasileiro de Pesquisas Fisicas: CBPF) in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Prof. Toppan is one of the most eminent researchers in the field of theory of elementary particles and mathematical physics, and in CBPF, one of the most important research center in Brazil, he works as the leader of the research group “Algebraic Structures in Field Theory “.
During his stay from April 7 to April 30, 2015, he gave several lectures for the students of the Graduate School of Science, as well as for the undergraduate students, together with many opportunities of discussion with them.
