Special Guest Professor Program 2014: Dr. Shah M. Faruque (International Centre for Diarrhoeal Disease Research, Bangladesh)

Osaka Prefecture University invites many leading researchers and educators as Guest Professors throughout the year. Each invited professor spends approximately one month at OPU to conduct special lectures, seminars, and individual discussions with faculty and students. The Guest Professor Program aims to stimulate students’ intellectual growth, to provide firsthand access to the finest world-class research, and to build tighter relations between OPU and leading universities around the world.
Our fifteenth guest in 2014 is Dr. Shah M. Faruque from ICDDR, B (International Centre for Diarrhoeal Disease Research, Bangladesh / Centre for Food and Water Borne Diseases) in Bangladesh. Dr. Faruque is one of the pioneers in the field of the molecular‐biological research of enteric bacteria including Vibrio cholerae.
During his stay from February 16 to March 1, 2015, he gave several lectures for the students of the Graduate School of Life and Environmental Sciences, as well as for the undergraduate students, together with many opportunities of discussion with them.
