Special Guest Professor Program 2014:Prof. Galo Soler-Illia(University of Buenos Aires, CNEA)

Osaka Prefecture University invites many leading researchers and educators as Guest Professors throughout the year. Each invited professor spends approximately one month at OPU to conduct special lectures, seminars, and individual discussions with faculty and students. The Guest Professor Program aims to stimulate students’ intellectual growth, to provide firsthand access to the finest world-class research, and to build tighter relations between OPU and leading universities around the world.

Our eighth guest in 2014 is Prof. Galo Soler-Illia from University of Buenos Aires (Inorganic Chemistry Department, Science School), Argentina. He also works as staff researcher of CNEA. Prof. Soler-Illia is one of the great pioneers in the field of research on mesoporous materials and nanomaterials using solution method. Recently, he reported the new functionality originated by the synthesis of biocompatible materials and mesoporous materials.

During his stay from October 23 to November 11, he gave lectures and seminars, together with many opportunities of discussion with students, at the Graduate School of Engineering and School of Engineering.
