Tuition and Scholarships

Tuition

Tuition is charged to your bank account on May 28 for the first semester and October 28 for the second semester. Default in payment may result in being excluded from the university. If you are a Japanese Government Scholarship student or an exchange student accepted under an academic exchange agreement between OPU and your home university, you are exempt from the tuition.

*When the date of automatic payment by account transfer falls on Saturdays, Sundays or a holiday, payment will be made on the next business day.

Tuition Exemption and Reduction

Privately-financed international students who are diligently pursuing their studies within the standard course term may be eligible to apply for exemption of tuition fees. In principle, international students who have remained in the same grade for more than one year are not eligible for tuition exemption. In addition, research students cannot apply for tuition exemption.
The application procedures will be announced on a portal site and bulletin boards in March and September.

b) Private and Public Scholarships

A variety of scholarship programs are offered by private scholarship organizations and public organizations.

Requirements and the application time vary depending on the nature and purpose of each program.
